Think of you Uncle Dale.

Uncle Dale

It’s barely been 3 months since Dad passed and now we suffer another family loss, Uncle Dale. He was 75. He loved to hunt, farm and build stuff. He liked Dolly Parton. There was a Dolly Parton cassette tape in his truck cassette deck. I understand he was in the process of building a corral which his son will likely…

Robert E. Winnard

Robert Earl Winnard Here we are, once again, to say goodbye. Dad didn’t want a funeral or memorial service.  He didn’t like attending them and wasn’t fond of the “fire and brimstone” doctrine with which he was raised. He had a personal, private relationship with God. We did however find his baptism certificate in his belongings. One of the few…

Aunt Betty and her girls featured

Aunt Betty and girls

I have been going through pictures and as more turn up, I’ll post.  Know anyone? This was taken at the old Blanchard farmhouse and was developed in August 1962.

More Winnard oldies!

Even in the old days, the older ones had more pictures taken.  I’m not sure if the baby is Roberta, Gina or Donna.  Maybe a family member seeing this will provide the missing details. I don’t have the original picture to see if there is a date or names on the back.

The Young Ones

This picture brings back some memories.  You could see a long way from the top of the hill where the old farm house stood.  This picture was probably taken in 1956 or early 1957 depending on how old Roberta was at the time.

Mozelle Winnard, Age 74

She would have been 100!

Yesterday was May 10, 2012.  Mozelle Kirkham Winnard would have been 100. It’s hard to believe that Grandma has been gone for 9 years!  She passed 3 days before her 91st birthday in 2003 and we held her funeral and said goodbye on that day.    This picture of her 7 children and their spouses was taken that day in the…

Hummingbird from Dad's Plant

Grandma Winnard at Apache

This is a picture of Mozelle Winnard while visiting Apache probably in 1990 or 1991 since I think Mike was a HS Senior.  Except Elizabeth who wasn’t yet born, all of Robert’s grand kids are in the picture.  They are grandma’s great grand kids, Robert, Lindsay, Erika, Charles and Michael.  You can see a bigger version if you click on…

The New Winnard Homestead

This house was built a little west of the old place.  It was close enough to walk over and check it out.  I’m not sure when they finally tore the rest of it down.  I moved away in 1972 and didn’t come back to Oklahoma until 1977 so I missed a lot.  I think Grandma is standing on the porch…

The Old Winnard Homestead

Wow, it’s hard to believe that Grandma actually lived in this house until her house was built in the early 70’s.  This is the place where most of my childhood memories with her were made. We also spent a lot of time at Grandma Kirkham’s house, especially in the winter or when the weather was too bad to get to…
